Eden Park 12-concert application – Hearing date set

Auckland Council have advised that the hearing of Application for Consent by Eden Park for extra concerts will be taking place on 16-18 October with 22 October as an “overflow” day.

This means there is a remarkably short period between the close of submissions and the hearing date. It means that if you want to be heard you will need to prepare your evidence now.

We will be trying to get the Council to postpone the hearing to enable people to prepare properly for the matter and for Council to see what the amenity impacts are on the area before during and after the Cold Play Concerts in November 2024. Those concerts will show clearly the amenity effects of three concerts in quick succession.

We can only assume that the quick turn around of the concert application from submissions to hearing is at the behest of Eden Park to avoid this critical analysis.
